The Impact of Over-Reliance on AI: Balancing Technology and Critical Thinking
I am a 27-year-old who is active, open-minded, and tech enthusiast. I am a bit lazy person that assisted me with making things more straightforward and in a more brilliant manner. As technology advances rapidly, Web 3.0 has elevated humanity to unprecedented levels of convenience, allowing us to achieve more with minimal stress and reduced manual effort.
As a technology enthusiast, I embraced AI early on, integrating it into every aspect of my life, both professional and personal. Whether it was designing websites, writing content, seeking business advice, drafting flirty texts or cooking, AI was my solution. For any random question posed to me, I turned to AI for answers. This routine continued for about two months.
Then, one night, a startling realization hit me: “ I STOPPED THINKING”. Yes, I hadn’t been using my mind as before. I barely used it generating better prompts for AI, instead of solving a problem. That made me realises how AI is impacting our critical thinking.
Using AI can be super helpful when you’re stuck, want to bring some crazy new idea to life, cut down on your workload, or educationally to learn something new. It’s great for that stuff, but leaning on it for everything isn’t a good idea. We humans have this superpower called thinking, and it’s led us to invent all sorts of things that make life easier and help us connect better. If we let tech take over and stop us from using our superpower, that’s not really the way to go. So, my advice is to use technology to boost your smarts, not to sideline what makes us human and destroy our super power.
